Janet Ann Fish Cook
January 19th, 1952 - January 1st, 2023
Janet Ann Fish Cook, of Blythewood, SC was carried away by Angels to her eternal home in Heaven on January 1, 2023. She is survived by her husband, James Cook of Blythewood, SC; daughter, Lindsey Marie Riehl of Columbia, SC; son-in-law, Brian Riehl of Columbia, SC; sisters, Ellen Murphy of Greensboro, NC, and Barbara Ballisty of Atlanta, GA; brothers-in-law, Terry Ballisty of Atlanta, GA, and Tom Cook of Orlando, FL; and sisters-in-law, Emily Cook of Orlando, FL, and Judy Cook of Orlando, FL. Janet is preceded in death by her father, William H. Fish and her mother, Helen Fish. Janet worked as a medical assistant, serving the community of Atlanta, GA for many years. She loved spending time with her family, taking long walks, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs. Janet loved her Pink Flamingo girls who have been friends for 40+ years. Janet was greatly loved and will be missed tremendously by her family and friends. Watching her smile as everyone danced to “You Never Even Called Me by My Name” by David Allen Coe, at her daughter’s wedding, is a memory that we will always cherish. A private life celebration and memorial is being planned. Details will be sent out as soon as they are available.

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
