Janet Martin, 70, of Cloquet passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2006 in Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 29, 1935 to Emil and Avelyn Vaineo. Janet married Arthur L. Martin on September 12, 1953 and they have made Cloquet their home for many years. Janet loved to craft. She painted, quilted, made dolls, and stuffed teddy bears, along with other unique crafts such as bobbin-lace and hardanger. Her children's and grandchildren's homes hold and cherish many of these loving home-made gifts. Janet loved her family and enjoyed the many family times they had together. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet and many crafting clubs. Janet was preceded in death by her father, Emil Vaineo. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Art; her mother, Avelyn Voss of Cloquet; six children, Steve (Vickie) of Claremont, MN, David (Debi) of Cloquet, Deb (John) Hoban of Duluth, Kevin, Craig, and Jeffrey all of Cloquet; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one brother, Paul (Ann) Vaineo of Cloquet; two sisters, JoAnne (Richard) Young of Cloquet and Deana (Warren) Klopsch of Des Plaines, IL. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 27, 2006 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
