Janice Reed Whitting, 73, of Nokomis, FL, and formerly of Belen, NM and Sea Cliff, NY died on October 1, 2021. She was born on August 30, 1948, to the parents of Sherman “Colonel” and Lucille Reed in Johnstown, PA. She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer (Dave) Robidas of Lithia, FL and Carolyn (Nick) Wilson of Sea Cliff, NY; five grandchildren, Heather Famiglietti, Taylor Famiglietti, David Robidas, Jr, Emily Wilson and Grace Wilson; two sisters, Barbara Edmondson & her spouse George “Tubby” Edmondson with their family and Susan Reed & family. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Services will be private. Memorial Contributions/In lieu of flowers can be directed to: DKMS.org (Blood Cancers and Blood Disorders) 100 Broadway, 6th Floor New York, NY 10005. Our mother was a registered donor and greatly believed in helping others or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org). Farley Funeral Home in Venice is in charge of arrangements.
