Jared Austin Gilbertson

Jared "Bubbs" Austin Gilbertson of Shevlin, MN was welcomed into the arms of God on January 16, 2010, at the age of 15 years. Jared was born on June 23, 1994 in Bemidji, MN to Russell Gilbertson and Sandra Spindler. Jared lived his life to the fullest. He took pride in everything he did, from playing with his friends as well as his school work. He loved dirt bike riding, starting at the age of 6, and competing in racing competitions. He also enjoyed riding his snowmobile during the winter months. He played football, basketball, golf, bowling, snowboarding and waterskiing. Jared was on the Superior Honor roll in school. He enjoyed the challenges his teachers would give him. Jared was the best "Big Brother" he could be. He was a protector for his siblings as well as a role model for them. Teaching his little brother how to ride his bike with no training wheels before the age of three was a great accomplishment he achieved as a big brother. He enjoyed the summer months with his older brother Jesse. They would spend time hanging out at the lake or just "cruising" around in his car. Jesse and Jared also spent several early morning hours delivering papers with their Grandma Ramona. Jared was very thoughtful and always willing to lend a helping hand, not afraid of hard work. He loved to help his Grandpa Russ cut firewood for the winter. Jared was also his Grandpa John's "right hand man" when he was visiting. Jared and his father would enjoy their times together. Whatever needed repairing, cars, trucks, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, etc., Jared was able to get the job done right. Jared also had his "momma's boy" moments and enjoyed spending quiet times with his mother on the couch watching movies. Jared loved his family times together playing cards, checkers, and other board games. Jared's competitive side would show when he enjoyed winning at video games against his step father, John. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Travis Davis; and Grandma Donna Love. Jared is survived by his parents, Russell Gilbertson of Shevlin,MN, and Sandra (John) Spindler of Tyler; sisters, Brianna and Hailey both of Tyler; brothers, Jesse of Duluth, Justin and Jonah both of Tyler; grandparents, Russell Sr. and Ramona Gilbertson of Shevlin, John Love of Floodwood, and step-grandmother, Sue Hughes of Lino Lakes; aunts and uncles; cousins; and many friends. Funeral service were held on Thurs., Jan. 21, 2010 in Floodwood Assemblies of God. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins-Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet.
