Jeanette Starling Chergoski

WINTER HAVEN - Jeanette Starling Chergoski passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Winter Haven Hospital due to cancer. She was born in Moultrie, Georgia on March 6, 1932 to Donald and Gussie Mae Washington and moved to Florida as a child. Jeanette participated in their family business, Starling Supertest in Winter Haven for many years, and was a member of the American Legion Post #8, Ladies Auxiliary in Winter Haven. She was employed by Jacquin Distilling Company in Auburndale ; then entered the home health care field in 1992 and served numerous clients in Polk County until her retirement in June, 2011. Her reputation for superior attention and care for her patients was well known and she was sought after for her services. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening; loved music, was an excellent dancer and developed a wide circle of friends throughout her life. Her memory will never fade. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Louis Chergoski; sister, Jackie Frier; and brothers Pete, Allen, and Ernest Washington. Jeanette is survived by a daughter, Shirley Gibson and her husband Kerry of Winter Haven; 2 sons Kenneth Starling of Pinellas Park and Timothy Starling and his wife Nellie of Winter Haven; 2 nephews Mark and Scott Frier of Lakeland; 2 grandchildren Keanna Waldeck and her husband Neal of Lakeland and Wesley Hunter Starling of Winter Haven; and two great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be at 10:00am, Monday, April 16, 2012 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice.
