Jeffrey E. Kartchner

Jeffrey E. Kartchner, 64, of Gilbert, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, September 16, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. An Arizona native, Jeff lived an exemplary life of devotion to his family and gave tireless service to literally everyone with whom he came into contact. Jeff proudly served in the Canadian-Alaska mission for the LDS Church, something he held very dear and tried to impress its importance upon his posterity. Jeff also served in many capacities and auxiliaries of the LDS Church. Every calling that he held was near and dear to his heart. Jeff was a skilled contractor and adept craftsman with many talents. He is the son of the late Beverly Perkins Kartchner and late, step-father Floyd Leon Kartchner and is the oldest of 8 children. Survivors include his adored wife of 41 years, Vickie Brewer Kartchner, daughter Stephanie Gilmore Jerel, Chase, Alyssa, Ethan, son Jeffrey "Lee" Lori, Austin, Max, Riley and daughter Stacy Ash Jacob, Elijah, William, Lilia; sisters Debby Kartchner Tindall, Cyndi Kartchner Porter, Tammi Kartchner Veater; Brothers Randy Kartchner, Scott Kartchner and Kelly Kartchner; Uncles Gayle Perkins, Jackson Perkins and Aunts Kathy Rockwell and Sue Sansom. Jeff's sister, Crystal Kartchner Dey, passed away in 1982. We have no doubt that joyous reunions are taking place. Viewing will be held at the LDS Chapel located at 1150 E. Guadalupe Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234 on Friday, September 20th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21st at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center on 1005 N. Voyager Drive, Gilbert, AZ 85234. There will be a brief viewing Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. Please feel free to make donations to the LDS Missionary Fund in Jeff's honor in lieu of flowers.
