Jeffrey Alan Korpi
June 30th, 1963 - March 19th, 2011
Jeffrey Alan Korpi, 47, of Cloquet, MN, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Miller Dwan Medical Center in Duluth. He was born June 30, 1963 in Cloquet and enjoyed working over 20 years as Station Coordinator at the local cable station, Community Access Television (CAT-7). Jeff was such an intelligent and adventurous person from the start. After high school he went on to volunteer and apprentice with various organizations including The Duluth Zoo and the Carlton County Search and Rescue Team. Jeff loved the outdoors and spent most of his free time there with his family and friends. He was very charismatic and approachable; he regularly went above and beyond work to help out people in the community. Always teaching himself new trades, Jeff's hobbies were too numerous to list all but a few; collecting rare guns and exotic machines, evaluating the latest and greatest technological gadgets, traveling in search of that intriguing pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with his metal detector in hand, and simply playing middle C on the piano with confidence for the first time at age 47 helps us all realize Jeff was fearless and was not afraid to try new things. Those of us who kept him close through the hard times will keep him even closer now and forever. He is deeply loved and missed by us all. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Eino Korpi; biological father, James Pantsar; and grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Joan Korpi; sisters, Kelli and Amanda Korpi; twin niece and nephew, Genesis and Jude, all of Eagan, MN; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral service were held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. Cloquet, MN.
