Jeffrey Russell Shaw passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2020 in Gilbert, Arizona. He was just 41 years old. He was a loving husband, father, brother, friend, and businessman. Jeff was born on June 27, 1979 in San Diego, California to Karen Shaw and the late Timothy Shaw. Jeff attended Durango High School before attending Brigham Young University Idaho, where he obtained his degree in business. He married his long-time sweetheart, Lauren Koehler, on August 10, 2002 in the Los Angeles, California Temple. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a mission to Guam from 1998 to 2000. He loved serving the Lord and the people of Guam. Jeff was an extremely hardworking and generous man. He worked for many years with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and earned several awards of achievement throughout his career. He was also a local business leader: an owner of two local Bahama Bucks franchises who employed dozens of young men and women at his stores and he was loved by all his employees. He made numerous lifelong friends throughout his career, and there was nothing he did in his life less than full force. Everyone who knew him knew he was the consummate go getter, a person who was virtually incapable of giving anything less than 110 percent, Mr. Do It All and Do It Well. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman and athlete. He is well known for his successful involvement in multiple marathons and triathlons, mountain biking, hiking, motorcycling, surfing, ping pong, and, more recently, meditation and Bob Ross painting. Jeff treasured his sweet family and loved spending time with his wife, children, and friends. He was a faithful companion to Lauren, serving and loving her throughout their 18-year-long marriage. He was particularly keen on writing love letters to Lauren – a habit he started at the tender age of 14 and continued for years. Jeff and Lauren were blessed with four beautiful children: Sydney, Jordyn, Levi, and Macie. He was an exemplary community leader and spent a great deal of time with the young men of the church as an adviser and friend to the boys he served. He was well known for playing with all the kids in the neighborhood, instigating 007 games, hosting Halloween and 4th of July parties, entertaining all his employees, and starting up impromptu football games. Jeff is survived by his wife, Lauren, and their four children. Jeff is also survived by his mother, three brothers, Timothy, Christopher, and Tyler, and a sister, Katherine. Funeral services, by invitation only due to Covid-19, will be held at the Greenfield Stake Center Building, 2740 S. Lindsay Road, Gilbert, AZ 85295. Funeral services will be live streamed for those who are unable to attend in person. Those invited to the funeral are welcome to attend a private viewing at the same location A public viewing will be held at Legacy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made via Venmo to @Lauren-Shaw-15.
