Jesse H. Cairns, 81, of Englewood, FL passed away on May 8th. He was born in Mansfield, OH on May 28, 1925. Jesse was a resident of Pittsburgh, PA where he had worked as a comptroller for Westinghouse Electric for 30 years. Upon retiring in 1983 he came to live in Englewood and spent time volunteering for Hospice, Venice Regional Medical Center, Habitat for Humanity and was a member of the Senior Core of Retired Executives. Jesse was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice, FL. Survivors include his wife of 61 years Mildred Finley; son Jesse Jr. and wife Karen of Venice, FL; four daughters, Patricia Parks of West Palm Beach, FL, Judy Lucas and husband Richard of Venice, FL, Diane Godlesky and husband Bruce of Apollo, PA, Marie Sparks and husband Ernest of Venice, FL; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Jesse O. and Magdalena Cairns; two sisters, Carrie and Della Maurer; brothers Gene and Danny; grandson Bradley Sparks.
