He was survived by his best friend and longtime girlfriend Irma Monroe, his 5 grandchildren Devon Ynostrosa and her spouse, Shontell Swabacker and her spouse, Sunness Romero, David Romero and his spouse, and Ronnie King and his spouse. His 12 great grandchildren, his sister Linda, his brother's Lupe and Ricky, along with his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. John was known by some as Johnnie. His favorite activities included singing and dancing. He loved having karaoke nights, and he could outdance anyone. When he wasn't doing those things, he was playing cards with his girlfriend and was always very competitive. All of his storytelling and bright smile will forever be missed by many. His services will be held at Romero's funeral home on 4750 Tejon on March 9th at 1:00pm. Reception to follow in the lower level after services. Please wear the color blue as that was his favorite color, and please bring one blue balloon for the balloon release to follow the services.
