John William Arguello-Dyck
April 25th, 1969 - July 29th, 2017
John Arguello-Dyck - 1969-2017 The Cubs lost their most loyal fan this week. John Arguello-Dyck donned his well-worn, red Bradley University cap as he played his last inning with us on Saturday July 29, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona ending a tenaciously fought battle with illness. He was born April 25, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois, where he grew up, lived, and met the love of his life, taking a few years to attend Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. After moving back to Chicago, his love for baseball, the underdog, and the intellectual aspects of everyday life culminated into his blog " Cubs Den". In 2015 John and his wife Stacey Arguello-Dyck set out on an adventure in search of a warmer, drier climate. They found the perfect home in Phoenix with not only a warmer drier climate, but the Cubs training facilities across the street. John experienced more passion in his 48 years than most people experience in a lifetime. In every conversation, his blogs, his everyday interactions with family and friends, John left part of himself with the people around him on a daily basis. He loved being an uncle, brother, and son. All of this was inspired by his true passion, his wife Stacey Arguello-Dyck, his soulmate and bestfriend. And let it be known that John had refined the art of enjoying a good scotch to the letter of the scotch law. We will miss his fire, the way he stood with his hand on his hip, his unashamed defense of the little guy, his really ridiculous jokes, and all of him. He is survived by his wonderful wife Stacey Arguello-Dyck, his sidekick and all around perfect dog Genvieve a.k.a Vivi, his proud parents John Dyck and Martha Arguello-Dyck, his sisters Sandra Arguello- Dyck and Michelle Petrini-Poli and nieces and nephews Lucas, Olivia, Alex, Emilia and Luciana. A memorial in John's honor will be held on Thursday, August 3rd at 3:30 p.m. at the Back Fields of Sloan Park, 2330 W Rio Salado Pkwy, Mesa, AZ. A celebration in his honor will continue after the memorial at Salut, John's favorite restaurant in the Phoenix area, starting at 5:30. Please join us as we raise a glass in his honor. In lieu of flowers please consider sending contributions to the John Arguello-Dyck Fund. Please send checks made payable to Stacey Arguello-Dyck at 65 E. Medill Ave. Northlake, IL 60164 or contribute to John Lester charity www.gofundme.com/nvrqt-in-memory-of-john-arguello.
