John "Jack" Andrew Haney, Sr.
February 21st, 1933 - June 13th, 2022
Obituary On Monday, June 13, 2022, John (Jack) Andrew Haney passed away at the age of 89. John was born Feb 21, 1933 in Clearfield PA to Theodore and Ethel (Saye) Haney. On July 3rd, 1954 he married Mildred Ann Oakey. They raised 4 sons and 2 daughters. John (Teri) Haney of Montrose CO; Deborah (Bob) Whiddon of Owasso OK; David Haney of Platteville CO, Jeffrey Haney of Bryan TX (preceded in death on May 1, 2013), Cheryl (Steve) Thiery of Platteville CO, James (Janet) Haney of Lodi OH. He and Millie have 11 grandkids and 32 great-grandkids. He loved to see his grandkids and great-grandkids and always had a big smile on his face when they came to visit. His loved to share his stories of his life with them. He was a jack of all trades. He worked in the coal mines, worked at Schoellkopf Power plant and in 1956 he was the last person out of the building as it collapsed into the Niagara Gorge. He was a truck driver. He drove a truck for the Hooker Company that dumped chemicals in the Love Canal in Niagara Falls in the 1950�s. He installed roofing, siding, plumbing, worked construction, operated a service station in Hamburg NY, worked at Resinguard Services in Englewood CO, owned and operated a motel in Longmont CO. He was a hard worker. He once worked on a car for Jerry Lee Lewis and Mickey Gilley when they broke down in Niagara Falls and afterwards went out for drinks with them. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Longmont Church of Christ at 1351 Collyer St, Longmont, CO at 1:00 PM.
