John J. Harris, Jr., 80, of North Port, Florida died on Monday, July 22, 2019. John was born in New York, New York on March 2, 1939 to Helen (Curry) and John J. Harris, Sr. He served in the US Navy and was a Seabee. He was a Printer by trade. John is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Maltz Harris, three daughters, Donna (George) Ashley, Dorene (Donald) Briggs, Michele (Jereme) Crouthamel; son, Michael LaPensee; grandchildren, Christin Ashley, Christopher Ashley, Kevin Briggs, Jodi Briggs, Nathan Crouthamel, Corey Crouthamel, Tiffany Mondo; two brothers, Kenneth (Helga) Harris and Robert (Maggie) Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. Harris, Sr, Helen (Curry) Harris and his brother, Richard Harris. A service with military honors rendered by the U.S. Navy will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
