John J Rigali, formally of Chicopee, MA, passed away on Tuesday May 17, 2016 in Venice FL. Born June 18, 1927, he was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, sons Joseph & Charles and parents Tony & Helen. He is survived by sons, Robert and wife Nancy, James & companion Roxanne and Richard. He leaves behind his brother in law Charles Samson & wife Patty, as well as grandson Peter & wife Jane, his grandsons, Michael & Matthew, and great-grandchildren Nicholas & Mia. John worked for the City of Chicopee Ma. as a police officer for over 30 years. Early in life John joined the Knights of Columbus and soon became Grand Knight of the Fairview council 4044. From that point on, this became his passion in life, and with much dedication, was able to achieve the decorated rank of Vice Supreme Knight of the New England states. John was a volunteer at Venice Regional Hospital for 12 years. There will be a Memorial Service this Friday June 3rd at 10 AM at Sarasota National Veterans Cemetery.
