John M. Sell

John M. Sell, age 91, of Venice, Florida, passed away on December 20, 2008. He was born on October 6, 1917 in Logansport, Indiana. He was a Chemical Engineer with General Motors in Anderson, Indiana for 25 years and Indianapolis for 11 years and retired in 1977 and later moved to Venice, Florida in 1978. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII (Okinawa) and a member of the Genealogical Society of Sarasota and Grace United Methodist Church in Venice. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean E. Sell; three children, Susan E. Pistolakis of Brick, New Jersey, David E. Sell of Sammamish, Washington, Jeffrey A. Sell of West Bloomfield, Michigan and a sister-in-law, Rae Kinn of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Village on The Isle in Venice at a later date. Burial will be held in Venice Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 400 E. Field Avenue, Venice, Florida 34285 or to TideWell Hospice & Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
