John F. Williams, 83 and a resident of Westminster died on November 22, 2016. The funeral will be at 10 AM on Saturday, December 10th at Tri City Baptist Church where he had been a member for 13 years. Pastor Senn will be officiating. Mr. Williams was born on December 5th, 1932 to John and Edith Williams Coshocton Ohio. He graduated from Plainfield School in 1950 and served in the Marine Corps as an air traffic controller from 1950 to 1954. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1958 and then served in the FAA as an air traffic controller in Grand Junction, Colorado Springs, Aspen and at Centennial Airport. Following his retirement from the FAA, he worked for the City & County of Denver as an airport operations manager at Stapleton/DIA. Mr. Williams was married to Arlene Spry (Matzke) on May 12, 1964 in Grand Junction and she preceded him in death on September 7th, 2002. Survivors include sons Andrew Spry of Uniontown Ohio and John Williams Jr. of Westminster; daughter Kim Cardella of Aurora; grandsons Santino Cardella and Johnny Williams; granddaughters Bonnie Yurka, Kyla Hoyt, Abbie Russell, Samatha Cardella and Libby Williams; great granddaughters Sophia Hanson, Selina Hoyt and Brooke Hoyt. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a favorite charity of Mr. Williams.
