Johnny Franklin James, 68, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away September 5, 2015 at WJB Dorn VA Medical Center Columbia, South Carolina. He was born on October 17, 1946 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Frank James and Katie (Morgan) James Meech. Johnny is survived by his wife, Brenda (Justice) James; daughter, Nancy Renee James; step children, Jonathan Marshall Gearhart and Shawn Michael Gearhart; and his two grandchildren, Braydon Tyler James and Destiny Aaliyah Foster. He is also survived by his brother, Frank M. James. Funeral services will be at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229 on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Palmetto Health Children's Hospital, 7 Richland Medical Park, Columbia, SC 29203, or at http://ch.palmettohealth.org.
