Cayce-Funeral services for Johnny Wayne Johnson, 67, of Cayce, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at West Side Baptist Church. Reverend Clint Lawyer will be officiating. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. Monday at West Side Baptist Church. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Mr. Johnson died Saturday, July 27, 2013. Born in Marion, SC, he was the son of the late Buddy and Barbara Hammond Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of West Side Baptist Church. He retired from SCANNA after almost 20 years as a city bus driver. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a generous friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed working in his yard, his grandchildren, and spending time with family. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Vickie Craft Johnson of Cayce; daughter, Tammy Ann Johnson Browder (Michael Wesley) of Cayce; three grandchildren, Brandon Scott Welch, John Wesley Browder and Brittany Browder Hicks (Nick); loving aunt, Hazel Northcutt of Columbia; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Wizzie Johnson. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at West Columbia Agape TCU, Dr. Frampton Henderson and staff at Providence Family Practice, and Providence Hospital 2nd floor ICU. Your service and dedication will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be made to West Side Baptist Church building fund, 2100 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, SC 29169.
