Joseph James Camarata

Joseph J. Camarata, 92, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away at his home March 26, 2017.Joseph was born May 7, 1924 in Akron, Ohio, to John Camarata and Caroline Schillaci. He was the youngest child of ten. Joseph's sister, Rose Burmeister, the last of his siblings, celebrated her 101st birthday in February and currently lives in Ohio.In 1941, Joseph entered the Marine Corps, and served as a Heavy Artillery Crewman. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1947. Once discharged, Joseph worked for the Erie Ordnance Depot in Port Clinton, Ohio until 1955.He then moved to Colorado, and owned a wholesale coffee business which served the local hotels and restaurants. In 1956, Joseph became as civil servant, working for the Army as an Electronic Technician in Calibration and Metrology. After many years of service and travel, Joseph formally retired in 1977.Mr. Camarata lived in Colorado Springs from 1956 to 1980, and the Oklahoma City area from 1980 to 2014.
