Joyce "Joy" Clements Thompson
November 8th, 1946 - July 10th, 2024
Joyce “Joy” Clements Thompson, 77, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday 10, 2024 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Cecil T. “Buddy” Thompson, Jr.
Born November 8, 1946 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Kenny and Ruth Elizabeth Crist Clements. She was retired secretary with Mohawk Company in Glasgow, VA and a member of Thomas Roads Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a son, Thurman Marshall Clements. III and their beloved little fur baby, Pepper ”Pep" and two brothers and three sisters.
She is is survived by one son, Thomas Leonard “Tommy” Clements (Wendy) of Vesuvius, VA; three daughters, Cheryl Clements Groah (Allen) of Fairfield, VA, Carol Clements Fitzgerald (Buddy) of Raphine, VA and Sharon Clements Scruggs (Chad) of Amherst County, VA; two brothers, Ray Clements of New Port Richie, FL and Mike Clements of Buena Vista, VA; one sister, Wendy Clements Browning of Blacksburg, VA; six grandchildren, Anthony (Jessie)Fitzgerald, Kelly Fitzgerald ( fiancé Ryan), Amber Clements, Ashlee Clements, Jacob Clements and C.J. Scruggs; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Elizabeth Fitzgerald.
A celebration of life will be announced on a future date.
