WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Julia Jennette "Julie" Barnett Miller, 86, of West Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington Chapel, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Pastor Ralph Schneck will officiate. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at the funeral home. Mrs. Miller, beloved wife of more than 40 years to the late Donald Elwood Miller, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Born in Eggleston, VA, she was a daughter of the late Richard H. Barnett and India Perkins Barnett. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Julie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who enjoyed sewing and gardening and who will be deeply missed. Surviving are her son, Don Miller (Rosemary) of Lexington; daughters, Connie Slocum (Carl) of Kingsport, TN, Debra Harrington and Gail Felton (Richard) all of Lexington; LaDonna Lorick (Greg) of West Columbia; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Homer Barnett of Blacksburg, VA and Frank Barnett of Elizabeth City, NC; sisters, Lourine McCoy of McCoy, VA, Frances Hassell of Elizabeth City, NC and Lois Ramsey (Garfield) of Blacksburg, VA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Gene and Luther Barnett; a sister, Elnora Barnett.
