She is survived by her mother and six siblings: Stan Sharon of Salt Lake City, Utah; Kathy John Hansen of Mesa; Marjorie Chris Christensen of Reno, Nevada; Becky Paul Johnson of Mesa; Jennifer Knudsen of Sierra Vista; and Hyrum Julie of Bountiful, Utah. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews to whom she was a favorite aunt. Julianne has a rich family heritage including many pioneers and early settlers of Mesa and Gilbert. She retired from Mesa Public Schools, having taught elementary school and many years as a math teacher at East Mesa Junior High. She was active politically in local and state politics and the Republican Party. She had a long-lasting and positive influence on many of her students and associates. Her greatest love was the theater. She held season tickets for productions at Hale Theater, Gammage Auditorium and Broadway Palm Dinner Theater in Mesa for many years. Disneyland was her favorite out-of-state venue. She enjoyed traveling and spent one summer living in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she worked at the LDS Church Distribution Center. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Julianne eagerly served in ward and stake callings. She loved working with the youth, most recently as Cubmaster in the Pioneer Ward. A viewing will be held Sunday, December 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. McDonald, Mesa, as well as one hour prior to the funeral services at the church.
