Julie Ann Mainella, 52 of Esko passed away in her home on Saturday, June 25, 2016 in the arms of her soulmate and with other family members by her side. She was born May 15, 1964 in Duluth to Larry and Kay Rich. Julie grew up in West Duluth and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1982. On December 31, 1994 she married the love of her life, Gregory Mainella. She was the office manager for Johnson, Killen and Seiler Law Office in Duluth. Julie enjoyed camping, cross country skiing, hiking, and watching NASCAR racing. Julie was preceded in death by her father, Larry Rich; grandparents, Lorraine Sinnott Del Zotto and Mike and Agnes Rich; and father-in-law, Martin Mainella. Julie is survived by her husband of 21 years, Greg; children, Andrew Pederson of Duluth and Lindsay Mainella of Duluth; step-daughter, Tiffany Mainella of Rochester; mother, Kay Rich of Duluth; brother, Joe (Patty) Rich of Saginaw, mother-in-law, Darlene Mainella of Cloquet; brother-in-law, Scott (Ginny) Mainella of Two Harbors; her furry companion, Missy Girl; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Basem Goueli, Teresa, the staffs at St. Luke's Oncology, the Infusion Dept., St. Luke's Hospital 2 West, and St. Luke's Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Julie and her entire family. Visitation: 5:30 until the 6:30 p.m. Memorial Service Thursday, June 30, 2016 in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Esko. A time of fellowship will follow in the Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
