HAINES CITY - Julio Gomez Zarate, 79, of Davenport died November 15, 2013 at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Haines City. He was born April 14, 1934 in Vera Cruz, Mexico to Emiliano Gomez and Concepcion Zarate. Mr. Zarate was of the Christian faith, loved working with horses and was a devoted farmer. He was known for how helpful he tried to be to everyone. He was predeceased by his parents and sons Mario and Jorge Gomez. He is survived by his wife Maria E. Gomez; sons Mateo, Ricardo, Moises, Rufo, Ruben Margarito and Carlos Gomez; daughters Maria de Jesus, Concepcion Gomez and Filomena Gomez, and 32 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11AM to 12 noon with Funeral Services at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
