A Life Well Lived On Friday, August 6, 2021, Dr. Karen Nagle, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 56 years. Karen was born on February 20, 1965 in Flushing Queens to Kay and Gerard Nagle and was sister to Michael Nagle and Kathy Loughlin. She and Andrew Mursch wed in October 1995 in Mineola, Long Island and have been married 25 years. Karen is the mother of two beautiful daughters, Madison Kay, 19 and Cassidy Dawn, 12. Karen graduated from St. Francis Prep in 1983 and completed her undergraduate degree from St. John's University in 1987. She went on to study dentistry and received her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Karen began her dental career in Queens, Long Island and lovingly sustained her brother's dental practice after he suffered a stroke. She moved with her family to Smithtown in 1998 and opened a private dental practice in Centereach, Long Island. In 2016, Karen and her family moved to Sarasota, Florida where she joined Hillview Family Dental. She was a member of many professional organizations, including the American Dental Association and continued to advance her professional education with advanced degrees and studies. Karen's commitment to her life's work was deeply felt by everyone she met. Her mission was to form personal, long–lasting relationships with her patients and was quoted, ""Remember your smile may be the brightest part of someone's day."" She was highly respected by her peers, a dedicated doctor and loved by her patients. She was known as the most ""gentle dentist"" with commitment to excellence and care. Karen is most importantly remembered as a loving mother, devoted daughter and sister, and a loyal friend. Her mother, Kay, was a driving force in her life and the foundation for her strength. Karen's love for her family and her work created a light in the lives of others that was a testimony to the size of her heart. Her compassionate spirit and commitment to those less fortunate left a lasting legacy in her community through her volunteer work with IMPACT 100. Karen's spark was contagious. She was an avid music lover and was known to sing out loud or dance in the most unexpected moments. She enjoyed watching her favorite shows with her daughters and spending time with her husband, Andrew. Her simple pleasures were reading, walking on the beach and many memorable trips to Disneyland. She always put family first and was deeply loved by her sister, her brother and her nieces and nephews. She was a caring daughter–in–law to Rev. Robert and Ausma Mursch. She was a beloved Aunt of Katie Eberhardt, Gerard Nagle, Willie Nagle, Brittany Nelson, Ryan Nelson and great Aunt to Nola Nagle, Benton Nagle, McKenna Nagle and Jude Peter Eberhardt. Karen will always be remembered by her family and friends as a loving mother and wife whose beautiful spirit will forever live in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
