Karie Lee Strosnider died peacefully at her home in Castle Rock, Colorado on Aug 1, 2018 at the age of 73. Karie is survived by her children: Shawnna Lee Houchen, Lara Mae Faulkner, Joseph David Strosnider II, and Samuel Jay Strosnider, son-in-laws Daniel Houchen and Frank Faulkner, and daughter-in-law Megan Timmons; by her brother Samuel Dennis Burks II and sister Barbara Jean Fobian. And by six grandchildren: Kelsey Houchen, Bode Houchen, Tabytha Dawson, Molly Strosnider, Lily Dawson, and Joseph Faulkner. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph David Strosnider, father Samuel Dennis Burks Jr, and mother Helen Mae Burks. Karie was born on August 9, 1944 in Twin Falls, Idaho. She married Joe Strosnider on December 4, 1966. As members of the Air Force, they lived many places, including: Turkey, Germany, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. Karie will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends, not only for the love she shared, but for her exceptional cooking as well. A funeral is scheduled for August 9, 2018 at Three Trees Chapel in Littleton, Colorado, 11am-12pm; burial to follow at Fort Logan Cemetery at 1:30 pm. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Three Trees Chapel in Littleton, CO at 10:30am, or in lieu of flowers the family asks you to make a donation to The Sarah Cannon Research Center where she was treated, or to foundationforwomenscancer.org.
