Kathy D. Knight, 67, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on May 7, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Otto Knight and Helen Knight. Kathy was a native of Columbia, growing up in the Rosewood area and settling in the northeast. She was a dedicated employee of BlueCross/BlueShield of South Carolina for 31 years before retiring in 2020. Kathy’s favorite things were traveling with her two best friends, Mike Jacobs and Seymore Port, spending time with family and making people laugh. She was an avid New York Jets fan and a loyal fan of her Carolina Gamecocks. To know Kathy was to love Kathy. You could not leave her without a smile on your face. She will be dearly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Kathy loved her family dearly. She is survived by her siblings, Pat K. Corley, Snellville, GA; Debbie Knight of Columbia, SC; Michael (Michele) Knight of St. Matthews; nieces Jeanna Corley (Diane Adams) of Scottsdale, AZ; Blythe (Patrick) Crisp of Leesville, SC; nephew, Kevin (Fara) Corley of Grayson, GA; great nieces and nephews, Ryan Crisp, Parker Crisp, Meagan Adams, Jace Corley, Jaelyn Corley, and a special cousin Thelma Kager of Jacksonville, FL. A celebration of Life service will be held graveside at Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens on Friday, May 26 at 3:00 PM. The family will arrive at 2:30 to receive visitors.

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
