May 19th, 1953 - January 13th, 2014
Kathy M. Rice of Winter Haven, passed away from complications of a stroke Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa. She was 60. A native of Eloise, FL, born May 19, 1953 to Elwood and Opal Lee Rice, Kathy has been a lifelong resident of this area. Kathy worked in the cafeteria at Westwood Middle School, and she was a member of the Winter Haven Moose Lodge. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Roger, her parents, and her brother Gary Bennett Rice. She is survived by her sisters: Nadine Greene of Winter Haven, Janelle Ginn of Lake Alfred; her nieces: Candi Sprenkle, Christina Barnhardt, and Sheryl Towles; and 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew. Memorial services will be 6 PM Friday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. In Kathy's honor, it is requested that all ladies attending the service wear red lipstick. In lieu of flowers, make checks /donations payable to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 11 Independence Way, Newark, DE 19713.
