Larry W. Barnes
August 4th, 1942 - October 24th, 2018
Larry Wilson Barnes of Venice, Florida passed away Wednesday, October 24th, 2018. Larry was born August 4, 1942 in Hayti, Missouri. Larry was the eldest of four children and the son of Homer Barnes and Hattie (Barnes) Parker. He earned a BA degree from Southeast Missouri University. Larry was very active at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and later became a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice. He had been a native Floridian for over 40 years. Larry had enjoyed his retirement from Wells Fargo Investments where he had served as a Sr. Vice President of Financial Planning and Investments. He gratefully served in our Armed Forces. Larry had a love for travel, golf and boating. But to know Larry his true passion was his love for his wife, Beverly. Larry was preceded in death by his father and identical twin brother. Larry is survived by his wife of 20 years, Beverly Barnes. Larry is also survived by his mother Hattie (Barnes) Parker of Springfield, Missouri and sisters Deronda Redden of Destin, Florida and Jana Wolfe of Springfield, Missouri. Larry is also survived by his two daughters: Tonya Vaturi of New York and Kristen Cole of Nashville, TN. Larry also has 2 step children: Lee Lehmann of Columbus, Ohio and Renee Collett Mick of Rockhampton, Australia. Larry is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Mackenzie, Raina, Claire, Olivia, Savannah, Ariel, Sophie and Liam. As well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 30th from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. with a brief memorial service immediately following. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to a charitable organization of your choice or: The American Red Cross, (he was a lifetime blood donor, up until recently); The All Faiths Food Bank, or to the Springfield Workshop Foundation in Springfield, Missouri, where his niece, Heather, (who has Down Syndrome) is employed. Larry will be truly missed by his many friends and beloved family.
