Larry Cruz Jr
December 1st, 1954 - January 22nd, 2021
"The family of Larry Cruz Jr of Denver, Colorado is saddened to announce his passing on January 22, 2021 at the age of 66 years. Larry was born in Scottsbluff to Hilario Sr and Amelia (Franco) Cruz of rural Minatare. He attended Lake Minatare grade School and then graduated Minatare High School in 1973. Larry was an avid sports enthusiast playing basketball, football and track throughout his school years. After graduation, Larry enlisted in the US Army being honorably discharged in 1977. In 1977 Larry became employed at the Denver Mint where he worked with pride until his retirement in 2018. Larry was a very caring and giving man and a huge Nebraska football fan. A memorial service will be held at Romero Family Funeral Home located at 1805 South Sheridan Avenue in Lakewood, CO on March 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will at Fort Logan National Cemetery with military honors. Due to COVID-19, the service is limited and will be accessible on line 30 minutes before the service at "romerofuneralhome.com". Larry is survived by his sisters, Esther Ann (Bob) Salazar of Lakewood, CO, Clara (Alex) Moreno of Gibbon, NE and brother Thomas Cruz of Denver. Nephews and nieces Gilbert (Jill) Pacheco of Thornton, CO, Edward (Felicia) Salazar of Westminster, CO, Lisa (Audrey) Salazar of Denver, Bill Cruz of Los Angeles, CA, Tiffanie Cruz of Denver, John Moreno of Gibbon, NE and Teresa Moreno of Gibbon, Ne. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother William (Lucy) Cruz and sister Dorothy Santistivan.
