Lee Woodward Daniels
June 13th, 1950 - November 18th, 2017
Lee Woodward Daniels was born on June 13, 1950 in Minneapolis, MN. Her parents Carol and Harvey Daniels raised her in Wayzata, MN where she enjoyed swim racing, synchronized swimming, tennis, figure skating and skiing. Her first jobs included camp counselor and lifeguard. Lee chose to pursue teacher education at the University of Denver as her love of the mountains drew her to Colorado. She loved camping and hiking trips with Young Life in Colorado and downhill and cross-country skiing. She graduated from DU in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in education and completed her dream by becoming an elementary school teacher. Lee married and had two children; Benjamin Nathaniel Ogren and Allison Beth Ogren. Lee continued to teach and her involvement with children grew as she joined Unity Church of Denver and taught in the Children's Garden for many years. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and very involved in the Girl Scout community. Lee's involvement with Unity church grew as she joined the choir and became a prayer Chaplin. Lee passed on November 18th 2017 after a near 10-year battle with Alzheimer's. Lee is survived by her brother Harvey Daniels, sister Terrell Montgomery Daniels, daughter Allison Mckenzie and grandchildren Tate and Deacon Mckenzie.
