Leona Dykes Chaney CAYCE: Graveside service for Leona Dykes Chaney, 81, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Gaston, SC, officiated by Rev. Dr. Tommy Pillow. Serving as pallbearers will be James Tindal, Lee Dykes, Scott Dinkins and Steven Dinkins. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. this (FRIDAY) evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to State Street Baptist Church, General Fund, 1420 State St., Cayce, SC 29033. Mrs. Chaney, widow of Etheridge C. Chaney, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Born in Pelion, SC, she was a daughter of the late Barney T. Dykes, Sr., and Carrie Williamson Dykes. She was a member of State Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Chaney was a caring, thoughtful, loving individual, who loved her family and her church. She is survived by her son, Marty Chaney; sister and best friend, Llewellyn Tindal; special niece and nephew, Brenda Tindal Spradley and James Tindal. She was loved dearly by her numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her great great nieces. Mrs. Chaney is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Nancy Dykes and Elaine Laird. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Dykes Poole; brothers, Barney T. Dykes, Jr., and Ray Laird; and step-father, Harvey Laird. Please sign online guest book at www.thompsonsfuneral.com
