LeRoy Gerald Valdez
May 29th, 1944 - September 21st, 2016
Gerald Leroy Valdez AKA: LeRoy Valdez, passed away in Lakewood on September 21, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents; John and Brenilda Valdez, his sister; Matilda Golden, Grand-child; Angel Valdez Ortiz, Nephew; Jerry Valdez and brothers in law; Rueben Aguirre and Pete Chavez. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Eva and children; Brenda (Heraclio) Valdez-Ortiz, Terry (Song) Kim and Geraldine (Gonzalo) Quirino-Valdez. His siblings; Rudy (Kathryn) Valdez, Sam (Linda) Valdez, Priscilla Aguirre and Marcella Chavez. Grandchildren; Esmeralda(J.P.) Valdez-Negri, Giovanni Ortiz, Jasmine Quirino, Zulema Quirino, Alessandro Quirino and Sierra Kim. Great grandchild; Jericho Valdez-Negri and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. LeRoy was born in Monte Vista, Colorado, attended Monte Vista High School and served in the Army National Guard from 1963 to 1969. He was also a stocker and checker at Safeway Stores for 24 years. LeRoy enjoyed playing the lottery, going to the casinos, watching wrestling and watching every Bronco game with his family. But most of all he enjoyed playing and spending time with his grandchildren. LeRoy was a very giving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. No matter how sick he felt he never gave up on life. Visitation will be at 5:00 P.M. followed by the rosary at 6:30 P.M. Monday, at Romero Family Funeral Home, 4750 Tejon St. in Denver. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, September 27th at St. Cajetans Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. at 299 So. Raleigh St. in Denver. Burial with Military Honors to follow at Golden Cemetery in Golden, Colorado.
