Lillian Florence Lahti

Lillian Florence Lahti, 93, of Cloquet, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 in Sunnyside Health Care Center, Cloquet. She was born August 31, 1912 in Toivola, the daughter of Jacob and Aliina (Simi) Kero. Lillian married Arvo Lahti on March 18, 1933. Lillian was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cloquet, was an active member for more than fifty years and served in various offices in the Ladies of Kalevala and was a volunteer at the Cloquet Community Hospital. She enjoyed fishing, handicrafts, gardening, snowmobiling, bowling and spending time at the cabin. She was preceded in death by a son, Allan, in 1989; two brothers, Jalmer and Jacob "Jack" Kero; and three sisters, Lempi, Mayme and Aili Kero. Lillian is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Arvo, of Cloquet; her son, Kenneth (Nancy) of Duluth; five grandchildren, Janet (Dan) Tolan, Elizabeth Lahti, Rebecca (Chris) Halvorson, Jon (Jennifer) Lahti, and Jay (Fiance Kari) Lahti; seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Matthew and Jenna Tolan, Stephanie and Darren Halvorson and Jacob and Sarah Lahti; a sister, Helen Meade of Grand Rapids and a daughter-in-law, Janet Nygard. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 29, 2006 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Interment was in Toivola Cemetery, Toivola Township, MN. Memorials may be made to the givers choice.
