Linda T. Herndon

Linda T. Herndon, 80, of Haines City, FL passed away on July 20, 2018 at the Consulate of Winter Haven. She was born on April 16, 1938 in Sanford, North Carolina and came to the area 1956 to attend the University of Tampa, where she received her associate's degree and was a member of the ZTA sorority. Linda worked as a teacher and a realtor before she became the Vice President of the Goodwill Publishing Company. She was of the Methodist faith and loved to socialize and enjoyed the beach. Remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was dedicated to and loved each of her students. Ms. Poppy, as she was affectionately called by her students at Ridge Vocational Tech, Boone Middle School and at Haines City High School, will be dearly missed. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, of 25 years, Coach Don Herndon and a daughter Amy "Lou" Gaye Herndon. She is survived by her second husband of 22 years, Robert McFalls; daughter, Holley Shaw Homan and husband Dale of Haines City, son, D.E. Herndon II of Haines City, sister, Cecilia Tillman Davis of Sanford, NC; grandchildren Derek and Zachary Thomas, Kali, Ada and Conrad Herndon and great grandchildren, Wyatt and Grady Thomas. The family will be receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday July 28th at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. Celebration of life service to start at 2 p.m.
