Linda Jean Maresca, 62, of Mesa, AZ passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Linda was born in Phoenix, Arizona on October 19, 1950 to Andrew and Harriet Ainslie. Linda graduated from Carl Hayden High School and Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Linda worked for the Mesa Public School System for over 20 years. She served special needs children for a number of years, and most recently she was Head of Security at Stapley Junior High School. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Tony, and their children: Christopher Dana Maresca and Sarah Josh Du Pont and her loving four legged furry kids, Charlie and Fannie. She is also survived by her brother Jim Sherry Speck and sister Susie Paul Kinsey. She is also survived by various in-laws, nephews and nieces. Private family only services will be held on Monday, April 29th with internment to follow. An open house for family and friends will be held at Tony and Linda's home on Monday afternoon and evening. Linda loved helping people and animals in distress. She was a wonderful inspiration for so many people that met her. Linda's encouragement and devotion was the key to her husband's bowling success. Linda's kind and loving nature could be felt by anyone in the room and tasted in the food she so lovingly prepared. In lieu of flowers, Linda would have requested that donations be made to the St. Mary's Food Bank and/or the Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA.
