Lindus Lennartson, 91, of Duluth, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, August 13, 2018. She died as a result of complications from injuries she sustained in a car accident where the car was "t-boned" at an intersection. Lindus was born June 3, 1927 in Duluth. She was the daughter of George and Hedwig Thorburg. Lindus was one of four daughters, with Lois being her identical twin. Lindus married Robert Lennartson on March 12, 1949. She and her husband "Bob" had two sons, Duane and Steven. Lindus was a 1945 graduate of Proctor High School. She and her twin sister, Lois, were both cheerleaders for the various athletic teams. Lindus then went to the Lutheran Bible Institute and attended Hurst Business College. In her younger years, she was the Sunday School Superintendent at Augustana Lutheran Church, where she was an active member. Lindus was also the first woman to serve on the church board. More recently, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Lindus worked for many years as an employee of St. Mary's Medical Center. She worked in Registration Services, with the later part of her employment being in the Emergency Department. Following retirement, Lindus volunteered for her church as a Lay Minister. She and her twin sister, Lois, were very close, dressed alike and did many activities together. They married brothers, Robert and Elmer Lennartson, and lived across the road from each other. Lindus liked to play cribbage and go on vacations with her husband, Bob, in their fifth wheeler. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Robert Lennartson; her parents and two sisters. Lindus is survived by her two sons, Dr. Duane (Ardis) Lennartson of CrossLake, MN and Steven (LuAnn) Lennartson of Duluth; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her twin sister, Lois Lennartson of Duluth and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Edgewood Vista and Benedictine Health Center for the care given to Lindus. Visitation will be from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service, Saturday, September 22, 2018 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cloquet. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
