Louis William Redding, 87 of Cloquet died Saturday, July 13, 2013 in Inter-Faith Care Center. He was born August 29, 1925 in Bemidji to James and Anna Redding. He grew up in Bemidji and Sturgeon Lake. Louis was an Army veteran serving during WWII including the Battle of the Bulge. He married Donna Makela on December 17, 1955 in Finlayson. Louis worked for Conwed for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Cloquet VFW, and the Eagles. Louis enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful friend to Stanley Almos and has treated his family as his own making many fond memories at the hunting "shack". Louis was preceded in death by four brothers, Francis, Morgan, Charles, and John; and one sister, Marcella Milbrandt. His is survived by his loving wife, Donna; daughter, Lisa (David Finzel) Redding of Calumet, MI; one son, Brad of Cloquet; and four grandchildren, Benjamin, Matthew, and Alex Finzel, and Noel Redding. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. A time of lunch and fellowship followed in the church social hall. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
