Lucy Kaale Valiente
September 12th, 1927 - May 15th, 2011
Lucy was born in Hilo, Hawaii on September 12, 1927, to Lucy K. Makaimoku and John C. Makaimoku (deceased). She was the second eldest of 3 daughters whose names are Alice Borromeo and Clara Silva (deceased). She was 14 years old when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. She graduated from Hilo High School, got married, and had 4 daughters (Virginia, Ginger, Pearl and Mary). She was later divorced and moved to Honolulu where she met Alfredo Valiente and married him in 1956. She then moved with her daughters to Kalihi, Honolulu and then to Schofield Barracks. Her husband was in the US Army and was sent to Germany where the family planned to join him. Because of the cold war, dependents were not allowed to go to Germany, so she remained back in Hawaii with her daughters. When her husband returned from Germany, he was stationed at Fort Ord, California. The whole family moved there except for the eldest daughter (Virginia who remained back to get married). Then in 1965 they bought a home in Marina and have lived in that home since then. Her daughter Virginia married Gary Ciriako (deceased)and had five children (3 boys and 2 girls). Their names are Keith, Katherine, Kevin, Kelly and Kimberly. Keith married Lisa Cameron and they had 2 girls and a boy (Nicole, Tyler and Lexie). Katherine married Scott Ricks (deceased)and had a son (Kainoa). She then married Mark Ragland and had a girl and a boy (Brandon and Malia). Kainoa married Aubrey (who had a daughter named Paris). They then had a girl (Sophie). Kevin married Diane Anderson and had 2 girls and 1 boy (Keisha, Jordan and Kylee). Kelly married Jody and had 2 girls (Morgan and Karson). Kimberly married Rodney Davis and had 3 boys and 1 girl(Marquis, Marcel, Maile and Matteo). Her daughter Ginger married Harold Henry (deceased) had 2 boys. Their names are Harold and Alfredo. Harold has a child from Charlynn Ursua (Jasmine). He married and divorced Rosalie Casarez. Alfredo married Jeannie Quibuyen and had 2 children (Claryssa and AJ). Her daughter Pearl married Sam Branco (deceased) had five children (3 boys and 2 girls). Their names are Carolyn, Sam, Tammy, Casey and Chad (deceased). Carolyn had a daughter (Samantha). Sam is single. Tammy had a daughter (Alyssa). Married Angel Martinez and had a girl and a boy (Leticia and Angel). Casey is single. Alyssa had a son (Elijah). Her daughter Mary married Raymond Foley (deceased) and had 3 boys and then married Fred Jones. Their names are Rafael, Marcel and Derrick and a step-daughter Aisha. Rafael married Carlene Turner and had one boy and one girl (Ryan and Ciara). Marcel married Stacie and had one boy and one girl (Alexis and Marcel). Derrick married Zulma Frayre and had 2 boys (Dominic and Andrew).
