Mack Johnson
April 26th, 1930 - October 17th, 2013
Mack Johnson, Jr., devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, went home to be with his Lord on October 17, 2013 at the age of 83. Mack was born in Sherard, Mississippi on April 26, 1930 to Mack Johnson, Sr. and Lucille McKay Johnson. Mack was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janie Hamm. Cherishing precious memories are his wife Mary J. Johnson; Siblings, John Johnson and Dolores Sneed; Daughters, Beatrice Henson and Melody(Anthony) Boykins; Five grandchildren, Shatoya(Jon), Melvin, Marshad, Rebecca, and Maya; Six great grandchildren, Vanessa, Marissa, Franky, Aleesha, Nehemiah and Malachi; Also left to mourn are his nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends. Mack was a 23 year veteran of the U.S. Army. He received many medals and accolades. He also retired from the Monterey school district. His favorite things were spending quality time with family, attending church and making friends. Mack was Deacon and member of the usher board at Community Missionary Baptist Church in P.G. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 25th at 1:30 p.m. at Habing Funeral Chapel, 129 4th St., Gilroy, CA. Visitation will be Friday, October 25th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, 1915 Ord Grove Ave. A Going Home Celebration will be Saturday, October 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 401 Pine Ave., Pacific Grove. Burial will follow at Mission Memorial Park. God blessed us with his presence.

Mission Memorial Park
For almost 100 years, our cemetery has served the residents of the Monterey Bay Area. Mission Memorial Park opened in 1934 as Mission Memorial Cemetery and for many years was run by the City of Monterey. In 1988, Monterey Peninsula Mortuary opened on the grounds of our beautiful Seaside location. In 2007 we closed our Chapel of Seaside at our Noche Buena location and merged the two to become Mission Mortuary & Memorial Park....
