Madge Land DuPre, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2018 surrounded by her children. Family and friends will miss Madge and remember her always. Madge was predeceased by her parents, Maurice L. and Marie S. Land; her loving husband, Col. J. Paul DuPre, Sr.; and her brother, James E. Land. She is survived by her children, J. Paul DuPre, Jr. (Carla), Ann Marie DuPre, David Brian DuPre (Cathy), James Jeffry DuPre (Donna); grandchildren, J. Paul DuPre, III (Kortney), Wiles DuPre, Clara DuPre, Patrick DuPre, Daniel Teitler (WanJu), Benjamin Teitler, Jeremy Teitler, Stacy DuPre Dunleavy (Tim), David DuPre, Jr., Steven DuPre, Stephanie DuPre, Jeffry DuPre, Sarah Nan DuPre (Javier); and great grandchildren, Luke Dunleavy, Clark Dunleavy, Olivia Teitler, Nora Teitler, and Finley Harper Singleton. In addition to being a devoted S.C. Army National Guard wife for over 25 years, Madge was a founding member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist church and was very active as a community member and in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends that contributions be made to Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church in Columbia, S.C. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Rd, Columbia, SC with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. A graveside service will follow immediately in Greenlawn Memorial Park at 7100 Garners Ferry Rd, Columbia, SC.

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
