Manuelita Oniba Medina was born on October 6th, 1931 in Taos, New Mexico. Her Parents are Juan Medina and Maclovia Muniz Medina. Her Brothers and sisters are Rogerio, Ivadel, Carlota, Agatha, Delia, Horacio, Juan Jr., Enock and Frances; some of which have preceded her in death. Manuelita Medina met Henry M. Montoya on November 22nd, 1949 in Chama, Colorado at Assembly of God Church. They became friends and later, on August 27, 1950 they were wed at Assembly of God Church in Brighton, Colorado. She and Husband Henry went to live in Wyoming where her husband Henry had worked for Intrusion Pre, Pac for the railroad until 1951, then they made their move to Brighton, Colorado. They continued to reside and work. On June 19, 1951, Henry A. (Hank), their first son was born. A year later, Gilbert Andy, their second son was born on June 22, 1952. Manuelita worked in various jobs along with being a faithful house wife, homemaker and mother. She worked in Denver for the Garment Factory for five years. She drove all the time from Brighton to Denver. She worked cleaning for people in Brighton, Co and Salida, Co in her younger years as long as she was permitted. She was always involved in all the churches we attended and were members of raising funds, selling food for missions, teaching with her husband and family, going to church camp, meetings, and fellowship meetings in other church of the Denver area. She Vacationed in different places with her husband and family (Sons, Hank and Andy). For fifty years, they went vacationing to different places such as, Mexico city, various places in Mexico; Guadalajara, Monterey , the Pyramids, Tijuana , Just to name a few, New York, Washington DC, San Antonio, Tx, the Padre Islands, Calgary , Vancouver BC, California, and many more places. They enjoyed spending the holidays with family; Christmas, Thanksgiving, all the holidays with children, grand and great grandchildren. We have at this time six bio grandchildren; Christal( Josh), Andres Jr., Hank Jr., Gabrielle, Manuelita (Rudy), Mercy and 8 bio great grandchildren; Trent, Nate Jr., Chainne, Israel, Enrique, Maiah, and Jezaiah. Grandchildren in law; Daija, Sean Jr., David, Corinne, Wayman, Aislinn Means and Xilali; they are all dear to our hearts. She was a Member of the Gideon International Auxiliary for many years. In her younger years she loved yard sales; she would buy nice things for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. At Christmas time, for many years, she prepared at least 10 shoeboxes for the Samaritan Purse Children. She had a giving heart. I, Henry, her loving husband of over 65 years of marriage, felt she was the best wife, companion that anybody could wish for. She was full of wisdom and always a thrifty buyer. She always looked for the best prices. She was never demanding and never a nagger, so honey, your were the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I will always love you. You were such a joy to be around, Your Hubby, Henry M. Montoya. I will see you someday. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 4:00PM- 7:00PM at Romero Funeral Chapel 4750 Tejon St. Denver. Prayer Service 6:30 PM. Thursday, September 3. Funeral Service 10:30 AM.
