Margaret Ann Harding
October 16th, 1934 - December 30th, 2020
Obituary Margaret was born in Bluefield, West Virginia in 1934 and passed away on December 30, 2020 at the North Shore Facility in Loveland, CO. Margaret was the daughter of Leland Quillin and Neva Cook. She attended Dobyns-Bennett high school in Kingsport, TN, the University of North Carolina and received a master�s degree from Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA in 1970. She was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi honor society in 1971 and was also accepted and entered the Penn State doctoral program that same year. Margaret married Samuel Harding son of William Harding and Marian Niece in Hillsboro, NC on May 30, 1956. They had two children Marian Jeannie and Samuel Thomas II. The family moved to Boulder, CO in the early 1970�s where Sam was employed with the USGS as a Research Geophysicist for many years. Margaret and Sam eventually moved to Arvada, CO. Margaret is preceded in death by all members of her immediate family and survived by a sister Doris Bailey of Tennessee and a grandson John Haduck of Colorado and many nieces� nephews and cousins in Tennessee, North Carolina and across the country. In her later years Margaret lived in Windsor Gardens in Denver, CO and then moved to the Wexford in Loveland, CO. Margaret loved Colorado and enjoyed camping, hiking and jeeping. She loved to ski and skied into her 70�s. She ran in the 10K Boulder Boulder in 2003 at age 68 with a time of 1 hour 52 minutes. Margaret loved to travel and traveled to many places in the US and countries over the years. She was famous for her great holiday celebration get-togethers with family and friends. She was happiest with a good book in hand and listening to classical music. Cremation was entrusted to Blue Mountain Cremation Services of Longmont. CO. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2021. Donations can be made to the Bill Bailey Scholarship Fund in care of Alcoa First United Methodist Church, 617 Gilbert St Alcoa, TN. 37701.
