Maria V. Escobar

Maria V. Escobar, 77, a lifelong resident of Haines City, FL passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020. She was born on January 19, 1943 to Felipe and Maria Salazar-Villanueva in Sarita, TX. Maria was a homemaker and a member of St Ann Catholic Church in Haines City, FL. Maria enjoyed gardening, eating at restaurants, and home cooking, especially her tortillas. She loved going to church, family gathering and being with her grandkids. Her family says that she was loved by everyone and she was known to all in the neighborhood as “grandma”. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W.D. Escobar; and daughter, Ana Maria Escobar. Maria is survived by her sons, W.D. (Patricia) Escobar, Jr., Alejandro (Maria) Escobar, Alfredo (Maribel) Escobar, Jose A. (Angelica) Escobar and Antonio (Elida) Escobar; daughters, Estela Torres, Elva Villanueva, Elda (George) Muñoz, Edna (Guillermo) Vega, Maria (Alfredo) Lara and Esther Escobar; brother, Lalo Villanueva; sisters, Julia V. and Margarita V.; 42 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at St Ann Catholic Church in Haines City, FL. Final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, FL.
