Maria "Mary" Rosaria Rivers
March 30th, 1921 - October 15th, 2013
Maria Rosaria "Mary" (Grenci) Rivers, 92 of Columbia, entered into rest Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Wildewood Downs. Born Wednesday, March 30, 1921 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Palmira (Rosolino) Grenci. A graduate of Barringer High School in Newark, NJ, Mrs. Rivers worked most of her life as an administrator, working for such companies as Hyatt Roller Bearings a division of General Motors, Bobst Champlain, Inc., and for her late husband's remodeling business, Ray Rivers & Associates. During the late 40's she worked as a seamstress in New York City for Lucille Rivers Dress Design Studio. It was Lucille who introduced Mary to her late husband, Raymond Rivers with whom she shared a devoted and blessed union of more than 56 years. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rivers was preceded in death by her son David Phillip Rivers. She is survived by her son, Michael Rivers and his wife Shirlynn (Powell); grandchildren, Allison and Christopher Rivers; as well as a brother, Albert Rossi. Funeral arrangements will be made by the Leonardis Memorial Home of Florham Park, NJ next week. Local Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home.
