Marie Jeanne Fournier

Marie Jeanne Fournier (Jeanne), age 80, peacefully passed away in The Villages, FL on Sunday, July 8th. She was born on May 17, 1938 in Fall River, MA to Luc & Yvonne (Boucher) Dumont. Jeanne attended Jesus-Mary Academy in Fall River. On November 27, 1958, she married Andre’ L. Fournier at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. They lived and raised their family in Dartmouth, MA. After retiring, they followed their dreams and moved to Florida in 2001. Jeanne had an outgoing personality and was involved in the Waverly Villas neighborhood social club, helping to plan events like block parties, Thanksgiving dinners, and Christmas gatherings. For many years, Jeanne volunteered at the soup kitchen at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Belleview, FL. She played on the shuffleboard team, and her favorite pastime was gardening. Jeanne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Andre’; her three children: Paul Fournier and his wife Cheryl, Donna Johnson and Kevin Fournier; two grandchildren: Ryan Johnson & Levi Fournier; her sister, Helena Chouinard; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and cousins. A Mass Intention will be offered in her Honor on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 8:30AM at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Belleview, FL and at St. George Roman Catholic Church in Westport, MA at a later date. A Celebration of Jeanne’s life will be planned so friends and family can gather, remember, honor and share their memories of her.
