Marie Catherine Jennings
February 18th, 1934 - November 15th, 2017
Marie Catherine Jennings, age 83, of Venice, FL, passed away on November 15, 2017. She was born on February 18, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to Audrey A. (nee Mitchel) and Wilbert G. Dolgner. Marie attended Michigan State University and was a member of Delta Kappa Sorority. Marie married Raymond Jennings in September 1971 in Michigan. Marie loved boating and fishing. She and Ray were members of the Chrysler Yacht Club and Mariners Boat Club. Marie and Ray relocated to Venice, Florida 27 years ago. In Florida, she ushered for 24 years at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall and for 26 years at the Venice Theater. Marie was also an election clerk for Sarasota County, a Waterford tennis player, a bridge and euchre player, a model for Stein Mart, a past member of the Venice-Nokomis Women's Club and the Venice Yacht Club. She was always a gracious hostess, loved to entertain, and had an overall zest for life. Marie is survived by her husband Raymond Jennings of Venice, FL, children: Joyce Stewart (Keith) of Lenexa, KS, Scott Jennings of Lansing, MI, James Kieling (Tammy) of New Baltimore, MI, Eric Jennings of St. Augustine, FL, and Jacqueline Gobert (Douglas) of Clinton Township, MI.; grandchildren: Katlyn, Connor, Amanda, Amy, Logan, Erica, Clayton, Stephen, Jaimie, great-grandchildren: Karen, Henry, Maxwell, Spencer Grace and Savannah; and sisters Laurine Krutty (Paul) of Venice, FL and Cora Wright of Venice, FL. Friends are invited to gather at Farley Funeral Home on Friday, December 8th at 10 am with a service to follow at 10:30am. Inurnment will be at Venice Memorial Gardens at 2 pm the same day. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marie's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Florida Gulf Coast Chapter, 14010 Roosevelt Blvd. #709, Clearwater, FL 33762-3862.
