Marjorie Bertolet Farrell

May 14th, 1932 - August 26th, 2024

Marjorie Bertolet Farrell was born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania on May 14, 1932, to the late Leon and Pauline Bertolet. She was the youngest of five sisters. She graduated from Pottstown High School in 1950. She worked as a secretary at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. where she met her future husband, Thomas Edward Farrell. They were married in 1954 and had 3 children, Jane, Susan, and Thomas. They raised their family in Pottstown and eventually retired to Venice, Florida in 1981.

Marjorie loved gardening, especially flowers and was a long time, active member of the Pottstown Garden Club. She was a wonderful mother, homemaker, an excellent bridge player and a friend to many.

She was a long-time volunteer at Venice Regional Hospital, retiring after 20,000 hours of service. Marge was a lifelong Lutheran. She was a member of St James Lutheran Church in Pottstown, Pa. and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice, Fla, serving on the altar guild and as an usher.

She was pre-deceased by her daughter Susan, in 2021 and her husband Thomas in 2023. Her and Thomas celebrated 69 years of marriage prior to his death. Marjorie is survived by her daughter Jane, from Eugene, Oregon, her son Tom from Pahoa, Hawaii, her sister, Phyllis Lengyel from Pottstown and 3 grandchildren.

A memorial service and interment of ashes will be held Monday, September 9th, 2024, at 10 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church 790 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, Fla. A reception of coffee and cookies will follow.
