Mark Matthews, 52, of Middleton WI, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on May 4th, 2024. Mark was born to Charles and Janet Matthews in Milwaukee WI but grew up in the small town of Hebron. Here he developed a love for the outdoors, especially fishing and catching all sorts of slithering, jumping, and creepy crawly things. Mark attended Fort Atkinson Schools where he began life-long friendships with many classmates that he deeply treasured. He loved gaming, anime, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Mark had vast knowledge of so many things and was incredibly curious and always learning. He will be remembered for his quick wit and clever comments. Mark was preceded in death by his father Charles Matthews. He is survived by mother, Janet, sister Laura (Darryl) Bagwell, sister Sarah (William) Guilkey, nephew Casey (Adia) Hanson, and many extended family and friends. A visitation will be held at Nitardy Funeral Home 1008 Madison Ave Fort Atkinson, WI on Thursday May 9th from 4-6 with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation to your favorite charity and spend a little time outdoors fishing. Online condolences may be made at www.nitardyfuneralhome.com

Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson

We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community for over 90 years, when Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. In 1984, his son Russ knew it was time to offer professional, compassionate services to the Fort Atkinson community, and we constructed a new funeral home to address its needs. We feel so fortunate to be a part of the community, and have grown our family alongside the community for three generations....
