Mark R. Meldrum
May 20th, 1933 - March 22nd, 2021
Mark Richmond Meldrum passed away on March 22, 2021. He was born May 20, 1933 in Mesa, AZ, to Jesse and Inez Daybell Meldrum. Mark grew up in the family home, next to Meldrum Mortuary, on 1st Street. He attended Lincoln, Irving and Franklin Elementary Schools, and graduated from Mesa High School in 1951. In high school, he had many friends, and was active in many clubs. He attended ASU, and then joined the US Army, and served in Germany, an experience he recalled with great fondness. After Mark was honorably discharged from the Army, he came home to work with his Dad and brother, Donald, in the family business, Meldrum Mortuary. Mark was a trusted friend, a confidant, and always gave comfort, as he helped families when loved ones passed away. Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Inez, his older brother Donald, and his wife, Dolores. He is survived by his sister, Ethelyn Meldrum Stisher, 3 children, Lori (David Prince), Kim (John Vaughn), Mark (Erin) Meldrum, and 4 grandchildren, Colton & Connor Prince and Dylan & Bryce Meldrum. He is also survived by Dolores' children: Linda (Dennis Mecham), Mike (Lindy) Stapley, Lori (Stuart) Driggs, Lisa (Ed) Hatch, and Greg (Venetia) Stapley,, and 23 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for this wonderful man, Father, Grandfather, and Friend on April 10, 2021, 10:00 AM, at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald in Mesa.
